Mother, does she ever. 

Most Caelondians’ll tell you that the Ura are lightweights, that they can’t hold their own in a drinkin’ contest against a Squirt, let alone a sturdy Cael soldier. An’ for the most part, that’s true. Takes less of most drinks to fell an Ura — somethin’ in their blood turns the alcohol against ‘em real quick. They distill their own spirits, but when held up to the hearty brews we come up with, it’s like comparin’ firelight to sunlight. Maybe they can keep up in volume, but there ain’t no punch to a bottle of Terminal Tea.  

And then there’s Zia.

Her father was a drinker, blood and heritage be damned. Can’t say I blame him, though — most Mancers were. Quick an’ easy way of forgettin’ your troubles, forgettin’ the things you did on a daily basis just for the sake of keepin’ things peaceful. But with Venn drinkin’ his liver into submission on a nightly basis, seems Zia picked up some tips along the way. 

Not to mention the alcohol tolerance of a Skipper on shore leave. 

‘Course, none of us knew that until the Kid challenged her an’ Zulf to a drinkin’ contest. 

Leave it to our Zia to drink the two of ‘em under the table with a smile.
