I keep trying to read A Clash of Kingsand I get a few pages in and remember that all the characters I hate still exist, and all the ones I like get far fewer chapters. Reading this series is like sitting next to someone who leans in way too close all the time, constantly mutters under their breath about really awful gross stuff, but every now and again tells a really, reallygood joke, so you can’t quite bring yourself to go read Throne of Jade instead. Or something. I didn’t get much sleep last night.

A Song of Ice and Fire, summed up in two sentences. (Also I’m in the same place. Need to read CoK but can’t bring myself to do it. Sigh.)

Reading…

So if you take a look at my GoodReads page, you’ll see I’m currently reading 4 books.

That is a lie.

I’m really only reading the one (Spirit Thief, by Rachel Aaron), which I am actually rereading— as in I’ve read it before and now I’m reading it again. And I only started it tonight, and I’m a third of the way through. The other three I stopped because, you know what? I just wasn’t interested anymore.

This is new to me. I read… well, everything. I especially don’t quit in the middle. But I guess with the small amount of time I have to actually read, I decided to read something I really wanted to. Reading shouldn’t be work; it shouldn’t be boring.

Sorry, Clash of Kings. I do love you, in your own special way. You are just very long-winded and kinda depressing sometimes. I promise I’ll come back to you after I’m done following the adventures of the most charming wizard thief ever.

You other two, well, I’ll get to you eventually. *shrug*
